Kyle Schwab and Family does Dularge
I had the pleasure of having Kyle Schwab, his business partners and there kids down from Baton Rouge for some good times at THE REEL IN LODGE this past weekend. A cold front came blowing through the day before but that didn’t stop this crew from enjoying the weekend chasing Trout and Redfish. They hired Chef Rickis Daigle to cook for them on Saturday and what a spread he created. Everyone had a great time and Kyle is already coming back this week with another group. The fishing is really turning on with big numbers of trout hitting the cleaning tables. We are starting to fish the coastal barrier islands and near by offshore production platforms so don’t wait to long to book you next trip. I still have some weekends open in June. Good luck and stay safe out on the water.

March Trout Fishing Turning on with the warm weather
Bayou Dularge is heating up with limits of trout coming in all this month. Capt Marty La Coste and Capt Travis Miller have been smoking the trout and Red fish all this month and it looks like this spring /summer is going to be the best we have seen in many years due to the warm winter we had. Don’t wait to long as the captains and the lodge is booking up fast. Hope to see ya’ll soon,

Kilgore boys doing the DU
Donnie Courtney brought his own boat down from the Baton Rouge area yesterday to meet his guest from Kilgore Texas for 2 days of fishing. Jason, Donnie and his uncle headed out from THE REEL IN LODGE this morning heading deep into the lower bayou dularge area chasing the yellow mouths. They had a great day catching 50 nice size trout for supper. They are already talking about day 2 tomorrow and I’m sure it will be a repeat on the action. The trout fishing is in full swing and will continue well into February as long as we don’t have a hard freeze for an extended time.
We have the finest lodge in Dularge so don’t settle for the cheapest, single room rentals or full camp rental that sleep 20 guest. Bring your own boat down or charter one of Capt Marty LaCoste’s boats. Him and his captains are on the water everyday and will put you on the fish!
Baton Rouge Boys down on the bayou
Had the pleasure of having Randall Aldridge and his 20 man group down for their annual fishing trip the last 4 nights. They brought their own boats and hit the lower Dularge area with a vengeance. The weather was perfect and trout were on the menu. 350 yellow mouths are what they ended up with to bring back to Baton Rouge. That goes to show that people that only fish Dularge once a year can still fill the boat. The boys ate like kings with everyone taking their turns cooking some awesome cajun cusine throughout their stay. It’s always great to have these guys down and they are already looking forward to there return next year.
Dularge Corporate Entertainment
A BIG thanks goes out to Clayton Breaux with SEACOR marine for having his corporate clients down to THE REEL IN LODGE. These guys really know how to entertain first class. Chef Shawn Whitney did a great job as always laying out an awesome spread of cajun cusine. Also a big thanks to John Eschette with Eschette tackle & seafood for coming down and taking care of all the fish cleaning so the guys could relax and enjoy spending quality time with customers.
Winding down day 5 and what a great time they all are having. Sunday was the best day of catching as they loaded the boat and still made it back in time to catch the saints game. After having a big meal and celebrating the win they took all the kids for a bayou/swamp tour down to the pass to watch the Dolphins slam the trout.Plenty of action in Grand pass with all the shrimp flowing through the pass. Just goes to show you what kind of fishery we are blessed with down here in south Louisiana when someone can come down and fish once or twice a year and load the boat. Now is the time to get the family out fishing as it doesn’t get any better than now.
Fall / Winter time Fishing
What a great weekend with the beautiful weather to have B.J.Schilling and family down at THE REEL IN LODGE for some trout and red fishing action. They arrived Thursday evening and after reviewing the camp map with over 40 years of HOTSPOTS marked, they were fired up and couldn’t wait to get their boats in the water. They also wanted to experience Bow fishing at night so they chartered an air boat last night. However as much as they like fishing I’m not sure what they were talking about more, the fishing or the LSU game coming on our 60′ Flat screen HDTV Saturday. Regardless of what they do I know a BIG time will be had by all. This is the time of year we have all been waiting for as the trout and redfish have showed up in great numbers so don’t miss out on the best fall/winter time fishing south Louisiana has to offer. Come on down and let myself or Capt Marty LaCoste and his awesome captains show you a great time on the water or bring your own boat down and we will point you in the right direction. Call to book your stay in Dularge’s Preimer lodge. You come stay with us once and I promise you will never want to go back and stay anywhere else!
Fall/Winter time special: $200 per room sleeps 4-6 or rent the whole place for $750 night, sleeps 20 plus. Good luck fishing or hunting.

Dularge Redfish
Had a great day with some senior friends chasing Redfish Wednesday 10/10 down in Dularge. Caught 10 reds, 12 Black drum with a dozen trout mixed in. Caught all the reds and drum on cracked crab with the trout falling to a shrimp under a cork. There were a lot of birds working the lakes but we only fished a couple flocks. I think its time for me to give the reds a break and start chasing trout!
